Glitter on the Eyes and Love on the Brain

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! This day is one of my favorite of the year because it is filled with so much love and happiness. Whether you are spending it with your significant other, friends, or family I have a makeup look that is perfect for all of your Valentine’s Day fun! This look is going to be a pink, sparkly eye with soft rosy cheeks and a nude-pink lip. If you are looking for some last minute inspiration just keep on reading! Before we get into the details, I just wanted to again say Happy Valentine’s Day and I hope you all have a day filled with so much love!

Face

To start off the look I sprayed my face with about three pumps of the Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist. This stuff is incredible and it makes your foundation melt into your skin. I also wanted to achieve a glowy makeup look so I primed my face with the Becca Backlight Priming Filter. You truly only need a pea size amount of this primer because a little definitely goes a long way! I then used a damp beauty sponge to apply my Dior Forever foundation. Let me just take a minute to say that one of my valentines this year is this foundation. It truly gives a flawless finish and is so lightweight but still covers everything! I love to pair my foundations with some beauty oil. All you do is mix in a drop of your favorite oil, mine being the Farsáli Rose Gold Elixir, and you get to give your skin a little love throughout the day! This is totally not a necessary step, I just think that if you can get some oil that has some great benefits for your skin, why not throw it into your foundation. WARNING: This is not a step that you should take if you have really oily skin and find that your makeup comes off during the day. Although I do not recommend people with oily skin using this technique, that doesn’t mean that beauty oils won’t work for you. Try some before going to bed at night! I know you are thinking “Put more oil on my oily skin?!?!?” but actually it could help if you use it a few times. After my foundation is applied, I set my face using the RCMA translucent powder.

Cheeks

We are all set to bring a little color to this look and I started with the cheeks! I recently just started using the NARS Laguna bronzer again and I forgot how much I love it. It gives a nice soft contour and has a little shimmer. I especially love this bronzer for this look because I wanted a glowy cheek and this made it so beautiful. To achieve a rosy look, I used the Tarte ‘Pampered’ blush. This is a very nice color if you want those pink cheeks! I would recommend tapping off your brush well before applying because when I say that it is a pink, it is PINK. Make sure to blend this really well onto the apples of your cheeks. Now, you can’t have a glowy makeup look without highlighter! I used the Becca X Jaclyn Hill palette and mixed Champagne Pop with Prosecco Pop. To apply, I used the same technique as my last post. Using a damp beauty sponge, I dabbed the highlighter on the cheekbones and continued to dab until it was blended nicely. This technique is great to get a flawless highlight because it looks so smooth and doesn’t highlight any blemishes.

Eyes

This eye look reminds me of the Valentine’s Day boxes I used to make, with my mom and sister, to prepare for the valentines party in elementary school. My box was usually always pink or red and had lots of sparkles and hearts all over it. I started out by priming my eyes with the Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Eye Primer. Then using one of the most beautiful palettes ever, the Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette, I started blending ‘Bae’ on my browbone. I took ‘Shy’ on a blending brush and blended that into my crease, up toward my browbone. After that was all blended out, I took a smaller blending brush and put ‘Flamingo’ just in my crease. This is a really bright and beautiful color so if you want this look a little more subtle, make sure to blend this color out really well. Then, I took ‘Bossy’ and placed that on my outer lid, blending it toward the middle of the lid.

After the base of the look was done, it was time for the sparkles. I took a flat brush and sprayed a little bit of MAC Fix + on it and picked up the color ‘Fling’. I put that deep red on the outer side of my lid and lightly patted the color toward the middle of my lid. Then, using the same technique, I placed ‘Angelic’ on the inner of my lid patting toward the middle again. Once those two colors met in the middle of the lid, I took the Stila Glitter Liquid Eye Shadow in ‘Smoldering’ and placed a little on the center of my eyelid. I let this dry for about thirty seconds and then I lightly placed the color ‘Flamingo’ on top of the glitter, to make sure the pink really popped! Make sure to blend the glitters with you crease, just so there are no harsh lines. For under the eye, I put ‘Bossy’ close to the waterline and then blended that out with a small blender brush that had ‘Shy’ on it. Once the eyeshadow was finished, I swiped some Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara on the eyelashes and put on the Huda Beauty ‘Samantha #7’ lashes. I then used my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner to create a small winged eyeliner and that was it!

Lips

I wanted to go for a soft pinky nude lip so I used the Too Faced Melted Liquid Lip in ‘Melted Sugar’ and put Benefit’s Dandelion Lip Gloss over top. These two products together made such a beautiful glossy lip that is perfect for kisses!

Thanks for reading! I hope you have a love-filled Valentine’s Day! Make sure to tell the people you love how you care about them and do something fun! Buy yourself some flowers, eat six cupcakes! Valentine’s day is about self-love too! Thanks again for reading!

With Love,

Abbie Michelle
